Ruby Kepley

Ruby Kepley is a native from the state of Arizona.  She is bilingual in speaking English and Spanish.  She graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1996 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Spanish.  From 1994- 1996 Ms. Kepley interned for the Coconino County Juvenile Detention Center as a Juvenile Facilitator and worked part-time as a Paralegal for Coconino Family Court.  In 1996 she began working as a Case Manager for a Juvenile Shelter (OPEN INN) in Flagstaff, AZ.  In 1997 she moved to Delaware and worked her way up the ladder as a Case Manager for Delmarva Rural Ministries in Dover, DE.  From 1998-2003 Ms. Kepley Co-founded a Battered Women's Shelter in Georgetown, DE while providing services as a Victims Advocate for Domestic Violence and Case Management for two Battered Women Shelters in Sussex County and worked as a Paralegal for the Community Legal Aid Society in Georgetown.  In 2004 Ms. Kepley was hired by the Georgetown Police Department to serve as their Victim Services Coordinator.  As a Victim Services Coordiantor she is committed to the fair, compassionate and dignified treatment of all crime victims, witnesses and survivors of violent crimes.  The Victim Services Unit provides a supportive environment in which victims and their families are provided information and can explore options available to them during this difficult time.  Services provided include: crisis intervention, referrals to community based services, court case information, court accompaniment, transportation to court related cases or safe shelter, assistance with filing court related paperwork and Violent Crimes Compensation Board claims, Spanish translations, personal and telephone follow up and other services needed to help reduce the trauma related to the crime.
