Making Nominations
Each candidate for Mayor & Town Council shall be nominated as follows:
- Each candidate for Town Council shall notify the Town Manager in writing of his or her candidacy.
- All notifications of candidacy shall be filed in the Office of the Town Manager during regular business hours and no later than 5:00 pm on Friay, April 19, 2024. Such notification of candidacy shall be upon a form furnished by the Town of Georgetown, which shall be dated, signed by the candidate, and witnessed by at least two (2) adult residents of the Town.
- The Town Manager shall present all timely received Statements of Candidacy to the Town Council for certification at a special meeting to be held after the filing deadline.
If no person files for office for which an election is to be held, the incumbent shall be deemed to be reelected for a full term and it shall not be necessary to have an election.
